The White Stuff

I woke up this morning and Mommy and Daddy bundled me up in so many layers of clothes that I COULD NOT MOVE!  And then they took me outside, strapped me onto a piece of plastic and pulled me up and down the street.  Everything was covered with cold white stuff -- it was fantastic!!!
Later on we went to Flamig Farm, where we went to pet the animals in the summer, to have breakfast with Santa.  Mommy didn't get to take too many pictures because she was busy feeding me her delicious breakfast of waffles, eggs and potatoes.  Lots of my friends were there, including Jackson, Emily, Olivia, Jillian, Jack, and Samantha.  Santa gave us all a present!  This guy isn't so bad after all.

Holiday Magic

You know, I think I really like this holiday stuff.  On Thursday night, a big red box arrived for me.  I think boxes really are the neatest things.  You can use them to help you stand up, climb on them, climb IN them...really great.  So I was excited that this one had a handle on it, too!  I've never seen one like that before.  It was my early Christmas present from my MI cousins.  I was so happy to receive this box!
But guess what, people?  THE BOX WAS NOT THE GIFT!!!  I know, right?  There is stuff INSIDE the box that is even better than the box itself.  I had no idea!  Mommy's been telling me to think outside the box so it never occured to me to look INSIDE the box, too.  You know what was in there?  The coolest wagon EVER!!!
I can walk around with it, put stuff in it, take rides in it if I can get Daddy or Mommy to push me...it's a miracle toy!  Thanks Aunty Leah, Uncle Joey, Annika, and Alek!

MORE wondrous things happened to me in these past few days.  On Saturday, we went down to Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate Daddy's and Uncle Mike's birthdays.  Of course my CT cousins were there, and Marissa was looking so beautiful in her pink ballet outfit.
Now that was great and all, but that's not the wonderful part.  I got to eat a cupcake!!!
I have to admit that when Mommy first put the spongy little cylinder in front of me, I had no idea what to do with it.  The frosting seemed kind of sticky.  But then I touched my fingers to my lips and...
OH!!!!  SWEET REFINED SUGAR HEAVEN!!!
There was no stopping me.
It was a little bit messy, but very very good.  And it taught me a valuable lesson that Mommy has been trying to teach me for several months...I can put that good good stuff into my mouth all by myself, I don't have to wait for my parents to do it for me.  And I've been feeding myself pretty well ever since the cupcake experience!
I was trying to tell Marissa to try it, but she passed out just from watching the feeding frenzy.  I don't think she even got to try one lick of her frosting!
Brady, on the other hand, didn't want to waste any frosting and so he licked it off of the table.
Poor Marissa, sleeping through all of the fun.  Should I wake her up?
Hey listen to this -- I was reading some of Mommy's emails over her shoulder (don't tell her I can read, she'll stop letting me see whatever she writes) and I saw something about having cupcakes at playgroup tomorrow for ND Emily's first birthday...I hope it's true!

Always a Party

It seems like there is always some kind of festive activity going on around here lately...antlers on Mommy's head, Santa at the mall and the library...
Christmas tree in the living room...
and now COOKIES all over the house (or at least the kitchen and dining room).
Yesterday my mommyand Jackson's mommy baked a helluva lotta Christmas Cookies.  Jackson's daddy played with us while the mommies cooked.  They all kept swigging from some fancy looking glasses with limes in them -- maybe that was some magic potion to give them cooking stamina, because they were at it for HOURS!!!

Emily came over after most of the cooking was done to sample all of the goodies.
I liked the Snickerdoodles and the Shortbread Cookies, but that's all that Mommy gave me so I'm not sure how good the Rolo Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies or Peanut Butter Hersey Kiss Cookies were.  Everyone else was chowing down on them, though, so I'm guessing they were pretty delicious.

Holiday things

We did some holiday stuff last week.  Don't I look cute in my Christmas PJ's?
Mommy and I went to the mall with my cousins Sam, Brady and Marissa.  Grandma and Grandpa were there too, as was Aunty Kerry.  We were going to take some pictures with Santa, but he was charging way too much money for a little tiny photo and I told Mommy I'd rather spend my money on yogurt and vanilla ice cream, thank you very much.  So we just walked around and went out to lunch instead.
On Saturday Emily and I took our parents to a tree farm to pick out our Christmas Trees!
Why were Emily and Mommy wearing antlers on their heads???  Must be a girl thing.  I'll never understand women.
I had some guy time with Jackson, too.

Thanksgiving

I am very grateful for my family.  I love Mommy and Daddy so much, and I know they love me, they show it every day in their smiles and hugs and laughter.  I have wonderful grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  And I got to see most of them this past weekend!
My Michigan family came out to our house to visit for Thanksgiving.  While I napped through the entire meal, I did get to eat some pumpkin pie and ice cream.  And to have a lot of fun with my family!

Annika and Alek dressed up for the holiday.
Mommy and Daddy had fun showing the family around town, and just hanging out with me.
I got to show off some of my new skills, like stair climbing.  Daddy had to put a gate up at the bottom to keep me from non-stop ascending!
Since my Michigan relatives live pretty far away, we don't get together that often.  That means that when we do, Mommy, Aunty Leah and Babu take a LOT of pictures.  I was getting kind of tired of all the flashing by the end of the visit...
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit the day after Thanksgiving -- there were plenty of leftovers to go around.
Gigi visited, too!  She read me a story about a hungry caterpillar.  I liked it!
Here's a picture of my MI cousins and aunt and uncle.  Uncle Joey is a birdman.  He got up really early one day to go bird watching and get hit on by a McDonald's drive-thru worker.  Even though he is happily married, I know he was secretly flattered by the attention.  Aunty Leah is funny, she made me laugh.  A lot.
I miss my MI family, they left on Saturday for the long drive home.  But we'll see them after Christmas, out in Michigan!

Chicago!

Mommy and I have been getting around lately -- NYC last weekend and Chicago this week!  We flew on a big plane to go visit Mommy's very very good friends, Jen-nay and Sterbs.  They have 3 kids and one dog who were all so much fun to stay with!

I'm not sure Basil loved me as much as I loved him...
Jen-nay makes amazing cakes, and when we arrived this masterpiece was waiting for us!
It was DEEE-licious!There were lots of fun things for me to do at Jen-nay's house.  She made us feel so at home.  She set up a bunch of toys for me to play with, set me up with a REAL crib to sleep in, got me my favorite foods, and made me laugh -- Jen-nay always has the best expressions.
Sarah was TONS of fun -- she let me climb on her while she was painting.
And she fed me!  Very well, too!
I had fun with Danny, who shared his toys with me.Michael was really funny, too -- I loved watching him run around and learning how to be a big boy from him.  And I think he learned how to make some fun expressions from his mom.
At one point the boys all swarmed Jen-nay.
Sterbs gave all of his kids a horsey ride -- at the SAME time!I really miss my new friends in Chicago.  It was so wonderful to wake up every day and have playmates right there, in the same house, waiting to share the day with me!  Mommy says we'll go back, and I cannot wait.  Thanks Jen-nay, Sterbs, Sarah, Michael, Danny, and Basil, for an awesome time!
