A nice day

We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner last night. It was such a nice day -- a bit cold but really sunny. We all went for a walk at Matthies Pond, including Gigi. I took the opportunity to take a snooze (one of the few I had all day yesterday!!! I'm not a very good napper...)Today is Mommy's friend's birthday -- happy birthday Dr. Sterbs! I can't wait to meet you and your lovely wife, and especially your kids! In honor of his birthday, here's a picture of me in MY birthday suit...but I asked Daddy to be discreet and cover my temporarily tiny privates. I love to take a bath!

Yesterday SUCKED!!!

Yesterday morning I woke up all ready to spend a wonderful day with Mommy and Daddy. They put me in the car, and I thought we were going somewhere for a walk. But they took me to a building and some lady started poking at me and sticking things in my nose and mouth and shining a bright light at my eyes. And then...and THEN...SHE STUCK ME WITH 3 SHARP NEEDLES IN MY LITTLE LEGS!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH! It hurt, I cried, Mommy cried...and I was crabby all day, even when Grandma came to visit. It was the most beautiful spring day, and I couldn't even enjoy our walk by the river because of the torture I had to undergo earlier today. I really hope today is different.

I did find out yesterday at the mean lady's office that I am perfectly proportioned -- 75% for height (24"), weight (13 lbs) and head circumference (41 cm). Yay, me!

Happy Easter, everybody! I had such a good day -- I really turned a social corner. I went to Aunt Kerry & Uncle Mike's house for Easter and I was smiling at EVERYONE and so happy today!

Do you love my Easter outfit? Mommy's friend Elizabeth made it for me.Today I especially smiled at my cousin Sam, who told me stories and secrets all day, and made funny faces at me to make me laugh. Brady even gave me some attention, too (maybe he was a little bit more interested in Jesse...)! But I think Sam loves me the most. She even took me for a walk!Gigi held me...And so did Grandma...Look at Mommy with her mommy and her mommy's mommy...three generations (I'm the fourth!)And I'm learning how to grasp things!

I'm not scared of the bunnies...

My cousins may have a highly developed fear of rabbits, but not me! Mommy and I went to the mall with Grandma, Sam, Brady and Aunty Kerry today, and there was a giant bunny who held me while some lady took my picture. Can anyone explain to me how bunnies, eggs and Jesus all fit together? Never mind -- just check out Brady and Sam enjoying their candy necklaces!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

To celebrate, I drank some Guinness and dressed up like a hippo. Not at the same time.Grandma and Grandpa came to visit me yesterday. I'm so glad they are back from Aruba. Doesn't Grandpa look tan?

I'm back!

I slept well last night, so Mommy let me back on the computer. The dr. said I do have a bit of reflux, and a cold (again!) so maybe that's why I am feeling a little out of sorts. But of course, I'm still just as cute as ever. See?

Sam and Brady came to visit today, and it was so beautiful out that we went to the park.And then we had yummy Mexican food for lunch. I love guacamole!

Jonah can't come to the blog right now...

...because he's doing this.So this is Mommy posting on his behalf. Why is he sleeping NOW, at 11:30am, instead of at 3am? I don't know, he won't tell me! The doctor's office thinks he may have a bit of the dreaded "R" word, so we're going in to see them this afternoon.

Jonah is learning to grasp things -- he gets so excited when I cheer for him.And he's starting to really love bath time! It's a good thing we got this awesome present from Renny and her roommate yesterday -- look how cool!

Up and down

Today started off disappointing -- my family from Michigan was supposed to drive out to visit for a few days, but they got snowed in!!! Their trip has been post-poned to Easter Weekend. I am going to be so much bigger by then! I was sad that I wouldn't see them today, I have never met my cousins or aunt and uncle on Daddy's side. On the bright side, it did give Daddy and I a little extra time to hang out in bed.
Um, we need to work on this nap schedule thing, Daddy...
While we were napping, the mailman knocked on the door and gave Mommy a big box. It was from her friend Amy and family, out in Ohio. Look at what delightful things were inside! That's a piggy bank decorated to match my room! And burp cloths with MY name on them! How cool! Thanks, Amy!Amy is getting married in July, and I get to go to the wedding! I'm going to look so cute in a suit and tie.

I slept through the night!

Yes! No wakey wakey AT ALL! I had almost 7 straight hours of uninterrupted slumber. Mommy and Daddy are thrilled, and look how happy I was today! (Thanks to the guru for the hand-knit sweater...alpaca is sooo soft.)

I played on the Gymini today, too -- I'm waaaay more into it now than I was 2 weeks ago.The weather was so beautiful today, Mommy took me for another walk. Doesn't she look nice in her non-maternity clothes? I can't wait for it to be warm all the time, then we can go out strolling every day. I love strolling, even though I fall asleep the moment the wheels start rolling.

Maybe they should have named me Bacon...

...because I'm a little piggie! I had a weigh-in today at the doctor's office, and I'm officially 11 lbs 4-1/2 oz. Wow! The last time I went (about 3-1/2 weeks ago) I was only 7 lbs 12 oz. The nurses said I am doing great. I'm the cutest little pork pie you've ever seen!

Here's the promised pic of my swaddled self -- just call me Jonah Burrito.A few of Mommy and Daddy's friends have suggested that they take a picture of me on the 25th of each month with the same object, to see me grow in relation to the item. sS here is the first in a series! This one was actually taken on March 3rd, since February 25th has come and gone, but we'll be on track from now on.

Miracle in a blanket

Last night, Mommy and Daddy used the Kiddopotamus Swaddle Me blanket that Mommy's friend Lauren gave her. After 2 almost sleepless nights, they thought it was worth a try. WOW! That thing has some magic power over me because I went almost 6 hours without a feeding!!! Mommy had to get up to change me during the night because I cried out, but I stayed asleep through all of this and let my much-deserving parents have a very good night's sleep. We're all very happy here today! I'll show you a picture of me swaddled up tomorrow -- Mommy and Daddy are saving that as a nighttime thing, and they didn't take any pictures last night. But trust me, it will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, enjoy my Al Bundy pose -- Daddy is so proud.I did NOT appreciate Doc sleeping in my Moses Basket!!!

Busy weekend

I had lots of visitors this weekend -- on Saturday, Gregor and Carra came over and they brought me some nice toys! I was a really good baby for Gregor and Carra (once I decided to not cry every time Carra tried to hold me). Gregor is so good with babies -- man, I wish he lived closer! We even went out to breakfast at Harvest Cafe and Bakery, and I let everyone eat without needing a diaper change or a bottle.
Karen and Will came to visit today, and they brought me a really cool musical snowglobe with my name and birthday on it. I'm so lucky to get so many great presents! Unfortunately, Karen and Will did NOT get to see regular Jonah, they only saw grumpy Jonah. I was extremely cranky for the most part (except in this one lucky shot with Karen!) Maybe it's because I didn't sleep well for the past two nights?Lucky for me, I'm so damn cute, it's impossible for Mommy and Daddy to be upset with me about anything.
